Gus Seehorst is a wood artist. He creates and designs his pieces, such as wood boxes, walking sticks, cutting boards, and wood art.  Gus has been crafting wood art for 70 years. This is a skill that he learned from his father who was a cabinet maker by trade. 

He uses locally sourced materials in addition to exotic woods. He especially likes working with the Purple Heart and Zebra Woods. But like all art, it depends on the piece. 

He recently started creating new wood art and will featured at this year's Blues and Arts Fiesta and be available at the show.

Gus and his wife Donna have lived in San Felipe for over 11 years and are a vital part of the community. Donna has a love of textiles and makes beautiful, hand-crafted quilts.

Welcome to The Toasted Coconut! Jen started this journey out of a desire for better skincare. Frustrated with commercial soaps that dried out skin and the high cost of natural body scrubs, she decided to create her own. After lots of trial and error, she has crafted products that she is proud of and excited to share with you.

All of Jen's scrubs and soaps are made with simple, naturally sourced ingredients from trusted vendors, free from artificial additives and preservatives. Each batch may have its unique charm.

I was never a crafty or artistic person. I love art and have been to many museums. My son was an artist. Several years ago while working, I felt stagnant. A neighbor painted rocks and I thought “I can do that”.  And it quickly became an obsession.

I had traveled to Mexico and collected sea glass.  I looked up ideas and fell in love with wrapped sea glass and again said, "I can do that.”  

Giving gifts for all sorts of occasions led to some sales at craft shows. 

Spending a day here and there and evenings while watching TV and painting or wrapping has kept me sane and added depth to my life.

We are two couples who live full-time an hour North of San Felipe at the Rio Hardy.  Lynn and Mike Kazmier live in Campo Mosqueda, Mickey and Penny Nielsen live in Campo Felix. We go to San Felipe often for city events, beach camping, or just for an afternoon of shopping. We have enjoyed the Blues & Arts Fiesta for many years.

Handcrafted Jewelry designed by Janet is beaded, wire-wrapped, and painted designs. 

Currently residing in San Felipe since 2016. Janet has participated consecutively in the Blues and Arts Festival from 2018 - 2023, the San Felipe Shrimp Festival in 2022, and the South Campos Craft Show since 2018 as well as many other craft shows throughout the years. 

Her jewelry is also offered at Cafecito Lindo and Baja Nest.

I was born and raised in San Felipe Baja until I moved out to study and prepare myself to work in and for my community. 

Now, after university and a Master’s Degree, I work as a psychologist at the San Felipe Special Education Center (Cam School) where disabled students get an education.

I'm a 50-year-old woman who loves to make beautiful things with my hands using anything I find inspiring.

Art has always been part of my life: drawing is my passion, especially portraits. I like painting on paper and walls, I usually do watercolor, acrylic, oil, and coffee (yes, drinking coffee). 

I love macrame, as it is a technique that allows me to create useful and pretty things knot by knot, which I find very relaxing. My mom taught me to do this when I was a little girl, and I love to learn new knots.

Marianne Clagett lives year-round in San Felipe where she works on her sewing and crafting, a lifelong passion. 

On the prompting of two friends in Baja, Bandits themselves, she began “Band It”, a unique approach to hat bands to adorn straw and oversized hats. This success prompted her to expand her creativity to lightweight reversible sun hats...and as they say, “the rest is history!”

My name is Nancy Rose.  I was born in Minneapolis Minnesota, where there are 9 months of winter and three months of poor ice skating!!  

I lived in Reno, Nevada for 50 years but now live 11 months of the year in San Felipe, Baja California.  

I started knitting when I was a Brownie Scout and I knit a lot. I can’t just sit and watch TV so I knit while I’m watching it!  One year, a women in San Felipe asked if I would knit some scarves for the children here. Of course, I said absolutely!  How many do you need?? Answer was 200!! It is difficult for me to consider myself an artist. Painting is something I do for joy, it is not and never has been my livelihood or career. 

I started painting around 2014, in my 70s! I have always been a doer and at this point in my life, the slowdown was noticeable. Living in the Baja I had a desire for a creative outlet.

I am self-taught with the help of YouTube - my teachers and gurus. I found so much information available!  I still do. I enjoy tutorials about color, value, shading, and light as used in exact copy, impression, and abstract. I am experiencing more of my expression.

I paint what appeals to me in several areas of life. This medium brings me immense joy! I believe joy is one of the most important aspects of living a full, healthy, and abundant life.

Randy Brant is a self-taught artist who recently relocated to La Mision, BC in 2020 where he is currently building a house & studio. 

His main artistic platform is acrylic on canvas, including Memento Mori skull painting & Patinas. 

The acrylic canvas process starts slightly off center usually creating the main character thus establishing the theme of the work from here he'll work outward. The background is the final touch. The creative process you need to allow yourself to feel the essence of the painting, It’s a mediative focus of free-flowing creativity & imagination. 

The Memento Mori skull works are a recent addition, the balancing of patterns & geometric shapes. Bring new life to the skull.

My name is Rubi Guzmán. I am originally from Mexicali B.C. 

I am a contemporary mosaic artist with 6 years of creating beautiful mosaics. 

For the last 7 months I have been teaching mosaics by offering workshops.

The technique that I use the most is mosaic on wood, Picassiete technique, murals and mosaics with tempered glass.

Pedro Camacho, better known in the Port of San Felipe as "El Perico", a great person with a noble heart for his fellow men who is also a great painter, a graduate of the School of Plastic Arts of the Casa de la Cultura in Mexicali, being a native of San Felipe and having just over 40 years of experience in his work doing artistic work for the port of San Felipe.

Among the outstanding and high-profile works are the Rocodile on the road to San Felipe at the entrance to El Dorado Ranch, lettering and design of letters monuments in the SAN FELIPE boardwalk and various murals for the American community such as SAN FELIPE BREWNING, BAJA SUN, SECOND CHANCE, LIONS CLUB and many others.

He began to dedicate himself fully to painting realistic landscape paintings last year 2022 due to a disability which did not discourage him, on the contrary, it encouraged him to continue. of full in this beautiful and fascinating art that is he world of the paint to hand raised. In this way, he continues to move forward with his medical expenses and continue his recovery process.
